Overview
The RD550 can locate non-metallic pipes at depths of up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) below the surface. The RD550 kit consists of a handheld receiver and a transmitter.
When the system is mounted on a water pipe or hydrant, water pressure opens and closes the valve approximately 60 times a minute. The resulting pulsed pressure waves that travel along the pipe and can be measured and saved by the receiver.
